Zowo, a village in Gubio town of Borno state was reportedly victim of an attack yesterday night, by a group suspected to be Boko Haram insurgents who trooped in their numbers into the village, shooting targets on sight. There was a gory sight of dead bodies of men, women and children, who were trying to escape the bullets flying around, littered around the village, the number of casualties were about 69.

The brutal terrorists also set the village ablaze as they retreated from the village after carrying out their insurgent actions, there was also loss of livestock as some of them were caught in the Gunfire and others were burnt alive in the resulting fire. The attack was suspected to be an act of revenge as the villagers were known to show resilience against their previous attacks and were said to have killed two suspected Boko Haram members during an attack in April
