The members of the house of representative has passed a revised edition of the initial N10.5 trillion budget submitted by the president, which was estimated at about N10.8 trillion.
The sitting also included the approval of the $5.5 billion external loan requested by President Muhammadu Buhari. The members of the house also planned to Consider the revised budget on Thursday, 11th June 2020.
They had also deferred presentation of the report, as the minister of finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed wasn’t able to provide the details for the sum of N180 billion, which is part of the N500 billion COVID-19 intervention fund in time for the sitting.
Senator Barau Jibrin, Chairman of the Appropriations Committee, explained to the other members that he ministry of Finance was yet to comply with the request of the committee by attaching necessary details for the amount to be captured as part of the 2020 budget amendment bill.
